Our Mission Statement:
To promote the development of excellent library service for all patrons of the Copper Queen Library. To provide funding in support of the Copper Queen Library staff and their programs and collections as requested. To make the public aware of The Friends of the Copper Queen Library, The Copper Queen Library and the services they perform.


The Friends of the Copper Queen Library (Friends) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) that supports the Copper Queen Library (CQL). Founded in 1882, the CQL was named Best Small Library in America in 2019 by Library Journal and is the oldest, continuously operated public library in Arizona. The CQL is located in the heart of downtown Bisbee at 6 Main Street.

Friends' funds come from memberships, donations, fundraising, memorials, endowments, and grants. All memberships in the Friends of the Copper Queen Library include a subscription to our newsletter, Among Friends, which features advance notice of upcoming events and programs and lets you know what’s new.
Bookstore
In the Friends’ bookstore you can browse and purchase gently used books, DVDs, music CDs, Friends-branded merchandise and more. Your donations of used books are welcome depending on shelf space. All proceeds benefit the Copper Queen Library.

The Library Annex, located on Melody Lane in San Jose, offers a comprehensive children's book collection as well as adult titles and a little bit of everything. It's also the home of:
